35,000 Books in 24 Hours: Pearson Foundation Gives Big

It only takes 2 days to give 60,000 books, and it only takes a few books to change a child’s life.

Thousands of students across the United States have been spending the past two days reading stories online to give books to their own public schools.  Pearson Foundation launched its Read for My School campaign on February 14th, encouraging hundreds of schools to get their students reading the online books.  Pearson gives a book to the school for each story read on their site, with the goal of reaching 150,000 books by the end of the campaign.

35,000 books were given in just 24 hours, and over 60,000 books in two days.

By promoting the importance of reading and providing the resources to foster it, Pearson Foundation has found an innovative way to improve national literacy.

Love it! My son was actually one of the schools that will receive some books. What an amazing cause. Thanks to BTW and Pearson for reaching out to so many kids with this gift.
